The Lost Hero Summer Book Club

Discussion Question:
As the novel opens, Rick Riordan tells us that Jason "woke in the backseat of a school bus, not sure where he was, holding hands with a girl he didn't know."  Predict what role Jason's confusion about who he really is will play in the novel.

First Reading Assignment due by June 15.  We will discuss the answers at our first meeting.  Bring your journal.   If you are not meeting, please post your responses on the blog.  Click on comment.  Write your name and the number of question you are answering.  Answer at least 4 questions.
Read Chapters 1-7

  4. Here are my answers to the first 4 questions.

    1. The coach made Jason’s confusion worse by him not knowing who he was.

    2. The circumstances that caused Jason to realize that he is a half-blood are that he threw a coin in the air and it turned into a sword, also when he was floating in the air. The skill he used was using the sword to protect Leo and Piper.

    3. Piper was so upset about the dream because the dream had ruined everything and gave her terrible news. I think it relates to Jason because she wouldn’t even tell Jason about the dream.

    4. Piper is so defensive at her arrival at camp because she thought her dream might be true and she might be in danger.
